Our research endeavors are primarily focused on the field of Neuro-nanomedicine, with a specialized background in nanotherapeutics. Our primary objectives encompass the development of innovative treatments for central nervous system (CNS)-associated disorders such as glioblastoma, Alzheimer's disease, and brain strokes. Additionally, we are actively engaged in tissue engineering research.
Our research methodology involves the application of a diverse range of biochemical, biophysical, and molecular biology techniques. These techniques are employed to create various biomolecular-based nanostructures, specifically centered around peptides, proteins, and amino acids, with the aim of addressing neurological disorders. Our overarching goal is to design and engineer these nanostructures to facilitate the delivery of therapeutic agents across the Blood-Brain Barrier, a critical challenge in the treatment of debilitating brain and CNS conditions.
Furthermore, we utilize our bio-nano materials for cutting-edge applications, particularly in the treatment of neurological disorders like Alzheimer's disease, glioblastoma, and cataracts. We also focus on developing nanoformulations based on biomolecules for anti-cancer therapy and applications related to neural tissue engineering.
In addition to therapeutic applications, our research group is actively involved in the development of various nanosensing platforms. These platforms leverage techniques such as Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), electrochemical methods, and fluorescence-based approaches to aid in the detection and diagnosis of conditions like glioblastoma and neurodegenerative disorders.
Our primary research interests revolve around anti-cancer drug delivery, neural drug delivery, neural tissue engineering, biosensing technologies, and the self-assembly of peptides and biomolecules.
